Community Health - Omaha

Assistant or Associate Professor – Community Health | Omaha Campus

Medical-Surgical - Omaha

Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship commensurate with the College of Nursing and university expectations.

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - Omaha

Assistant or Associate Professor – Neonatal Nurse Practitioner | Omaha Campus

Creighton University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, is seeking a 12-month, full-time, tenure track neonatal nurse practitioner to fill a faculty position in the College of Nursing’s graduate MSN and DNP  programs.  This position is for the College’s Omaha campus.

Faculty will assume classroom and practicum responsibilities as well as course management in the specialty area. The MSN and DNP programs use distance delivery methods.  Therefore, responsibilities include synchronous and asynchronous classroom and seminar instruction as well as face-to-face classroom and lab instruction.  The faculty member will assume responsibility for coordinating clinical site placement for student- preceptor experiences as well as overseeing neonatal graduate students in practicum experiences.   

The faculty member will collaborate with a team of both nursing colleagues and colleagues from other health sciences in the on-going planning, revision, and evaluation of the nursing graduate curriculum. In addition to formal student advising responsibilities, the faculty will assume membership and chair responsibilities for doctoral students’ scholarly projects.  The faculty member will be expected to pursue scholarly activities appropriate to their appointment, position, and rank.       

The faculty member will be expected to serve as a member of College of Nursing and university committees appropriate to their expertise and the needs of the College or University.  The faculty will also be expected to maintain professional competency through appropriate certification, continuing education, active clinical practice, and recertification.  

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in nursing or closely related field from an accredited institution and national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a neonatal nurse practitioner in a Level III or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  A current unencumbered RN licensure and APRN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure, is necessary. Prior teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff, and students to foster the mission and goals of Creighton University and the College of Nursing.
