Simulation/Lab Director - Omaha

The Simulation/Lab Director provides leadership for the simulation/laboratory experiences’ agenda on both the Omaha and Hastings College of Nursing campuses. The Director partners with College of Nursing administrators, faculty, staff and students to design, implement, integrate and evaluate evidence-based innovative simulation programs that support clinical decision-making and skill acquisition consistent with the CON’s undergraduate and graduate curricula. The Director collaborates with the members of the university’s interprofessional health team to integrate simulation across the health science professions’ curricula and research effective strategies and models. In addition, the Director may assume direct teaching responsibilities during simulated learning experiences across the nursing curricula. Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship.

Candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in nursing and 3-5 years of nursing experience,preferably in an acute care setting. An earned doctorate in nursing or related field is preferred. The candidate should exhibit competency in fundamental and advanced nursing psychomotor and health assessment skills; the ability to work as a team member and build collaborative relationships; and possess technology knowledge and skills (high fidelity simulation experience is preferred). The candidate must have a current unencumbered licensure as an RN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure. National certification and licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in an appropriate nurse practitioner field is required if applicable.

Pediatric Nursing Faculty - Omaha

Faculty responsibilities will include classroom instruction in the undergraduate program, clinical and simulation teaching/supervision of undergraduate students in both the pediatric acute care settings and community-based settings, curriculum development, and academic advising. All candidates must be eligible to supervise students at assigned clinical agencies. Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship commensurate with the College of Nursing and university expectations.

Candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in nursing and 3 years of clinical nursing experience. An earned doctorate or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in classroom and simulation instruction and clinical supervision. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in nursing or related field and be nationally certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. The candidate must have evidence of recent clinical practice, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.  Teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred. The candidate will need to remain active in clinical practice.

The candidate must have a current unencumbered licensure as an RN and APRN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure. 

Faculty responsibilities will include classroom instruction, clinical teaching/supervision of students, curriculum planning and development, facilitating development of clinical sites for preceptor experiences, and academic and scholarly project advising. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and the flexibility to teach collaboratively across the curriculum are desired. Pursuit of scholarly and service activity is necessary for professional standing and advancement.
